A one-vehicle accident Friday night in Beaver County, Okla., injured both the driver and a passenger.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the accident happened at 11:30 p.m. Friday on Beaver County Road NS 148, about a 10th of a mile north of Beaver County Road, nearly five miles south and eight and a half miles east of Beaver, Okla.

OHP said a 1984 Chevy pickup was northbound on Road NS 148, when the driver, Paul Lynn Igou, 44, of Beaver, stated he swerved right to avoid a deer. The pickup departed the roadway, overcorrected to the left and departed the roadway to the left, overcorrected to the right and rolled about one time.

The passenger in the vehicle, 41-year-old Mindy Jo Lee of Beaver, was ejected an unknown distance during the collision.

Igou and Lee were both taken by private vehicle to Beaver County Memorial Hospital. Igou was treated and released. Lee was later flown by Apollo Mediflight to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was admitted with arm, leg and trunk injuries. She is listed in stable condition.

OHP said seat belts were equipped in the vehicle but not in use by either Igou or Lee.
