leroy ladnerULYSSES – LeRoy Ladner, 87, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at Western Prairie Senior Living in Ulysses. 

He was born March 16, 1932, in Springfield, Colo. 

After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He served during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart for combat injuries.  After Korea, he continued his service in the Marines completing 20 years.

He had career as the manager of Gibson’s before retiring after a career of more than 20 years.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include sons, Dale Ladner and wife, Amy, Kansas City, Mo., and Robert Ladner, Overland Park; daughter, Vicki Ladner, Hutchinson; and four grandchildren: Ben, Spencer, Nate and Sara.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Beth.

• Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020 at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, with military rites by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79. 

Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
