Charles “Chuck” Conrad Davis, 80, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017 at Monroe Manor in Jay, Okla. from complications caused by pneumonia.
He was born Feb. 16, 1937 in Newton.
He served in the U.S. Army until 1959, attaining the rank Specialist 4th Class.
He spent much of his career working for Jayhawk Pipeline and retired after more than 30 years of employment.
He was an active member of the Shriners and served as President of the Southwest Shriners Club as well as Potentate’s Aide to the Midian Temple.
He was also very interested in politics and was invited to attend the inaugurations of Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan.
He also loved taking fishing trips to Walker, Minn. and he was an avid baseball fan, with his favorite team being the New York Yankees.
Survivors include daughter, Lori Hada and husband, William Hada, Jay, Okla.; grandchildren, Justin Roehr and wife, Stephanie Roehr, Weatherford, Okla. and Josh Roehr and wife, Kelli Roehr, Gladstone, Mo.; and great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Samantha Roehr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence N. Davis and Irene Davis; and brother, Richard Harding Davis.
