Texas County health officials confirmed 38 more positive COVID-19 tests Sunday. The new positive results were  for 36 Guymon residents and two listed out of the county. No other details in confirmed cases were released. Guymon’s 568 confirmed COVID-19 cases exceeded Tulsa’s 543, making the city of Guymon number two in Oklahoma for total COVID-19 cases.  Officials in Texas County reported 237 recovered in Guymon.

Texas County remained third in the state for total confirmed cases by county and the Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 318 total recoveries county wide. Texas County has remained the COVID-19 “hot spot” in the state of Oklahoma and various local, state and federal agencies have been working to strategically manage the ongoing community outbreak.

Health officials in Guymon have advised that efforts to boost testing have been successful and the county will see increased testing this next week. A team is assisting in testing of Seaboard Foods employees at the Guymon location. Drive-Through testing is offered free of charge by the Texas County Health Department Monday through Thursday for individuals with at least one COVID-19 symptom present, but an appointment is required. Appointments are available by calling TCHD at 580-338-8544. Additional testing is offered by Specialty Clinics of St. Anne’s Internal Medicine, Xpress Wellness Urgent Care and Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
