Texas County health officials confirmed nine positive COVID-19 tests Saturday. The results were for five Guymon residents, two Hooker residents, one Hardesty resident and one Optima resident. County officials confirmed Texas County’s COVID-19 count is now at 920 total cases with 817 total recoveries and five deaths. Health officials advised that the local curve was starting to flatten with only 103 current active cases. Texas County was third in the state for total coronavirus cases behind Oklahoma County and Tulsa County, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The OSDH reported 80 new COVID-19 cases across the state Saturday, bringing the total number of the state’s positive cases to 6,418 with 334 deaths and 95 new recoveries bringing the state's total recoveries to 5,435.

COVID-19 case counts in each Texas County town with positives were: Guymon with 763, Hooker with 90, Texhoma with 24, Tyrone with 14, Goodwell with 13, Optima with eight, Hardesty with four, Adams with one and there were three unspecified towns.

Drive-through testing is offered for free by Walmart with appointments made at www.DoINeedACOVID19Test.com, and the Texas County Health Department for individuals with at least one COVID-19 symptom present or if they’ve had exposure to a COVID-19 positive person, but an appointment is required. Appointments are available by calling TCHD at 580-338-8544. Additional testing is offered by Specialty Clinics of St. Anne’s Internal Medicine, Xpress Wellness Urgent Care, and Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
