The USD 480 school board will be taking things easy at its last regular meeting of 2021 Monday evening starting at 6:30. Monday evening’s meeting will be in Room C107 of the Liberal High School East Annex.

After the superintendent’s report, which will discuss the ESSER III survey and the National School Board Association Conference will be the other administrator reports, including from Director of Technology Rusty Tuman.

“We have received 88 percent of the e-rate Aruba Switch project,” the agenda information noted. “With the core switch project, we have 0 of 3 core switches, 12 of 12 1800w power supplies, 4 of 4 management modules, and 6 of 6 48 Port 10G/25G SFP28 modules.  With the building switch project, we have 220 of 250 building switches, 500 of 500 680w power supplies, 250 of 250 2-Port stacking modules, 70 of 250 4p SFP+ modules, 236 of 250 0.5M stacking cables, 120 of 120 10G SFP+ 10km transceivers, and 240 of 240 10G SFP+ 300m transceivers.”

After Tuman’s report, the board will hear a COVID-19 update before later moving to new business. Up first in new business will be discussion of a gift from Southwest Miracles.

“Southwest Miracles is donating a wheelchair to each school for students,” the agenda information noted. “They will be at the meeting to make a presentation.”

The other piece of new business will be discussion of the purchase of a new mower. 

“USD 480 has solicited bids to purchase a Hustler Super 104, 38.5HP Kawasaki FX1000 mower. One bid was received from Keating Tractor in Liberal in the amount of $23,250,” the agenda information noted. “Staff is recommending the board approve the bid from Keating Tractor in the amount of $23,250.”
