A driver was not injured, but the vehicle she was driving was damaged after a pickup collided with a deer early this morning in rural Seward County.

In a press release, Seward County Undersheriff Gene Ward said around 1 a.m., a female driver from Syracuse was traveling eastbound on Road 13 about a quarter mile east of U.S. Highway 54, when two deer jumped into the roadway.

“The driver missed the first deer, but struck the second,” he said.

Ward said the collision caused damage to the 2007 Ford F150 pickup’s right front quarter panel and deployed to airbags. The driver was not injured, however.
