WASHINGTON – Wednesday, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (R-KS) was selected to serve on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, Subcommittee on Aviation, and Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials.

“I am honored to serve on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee,” said Rep. Mann. “It is vitally important that the Big First is represented on these three subcommittees. We have 83,000 miles of road, seven commercial airports, and more than 4,000 miles of railroad track in our district. We rely on this system to get to work, to take our kids to school, to deliver grain, livestock, and ethanol, and to connect to the rest of the world. We have a lot of work to do. We need legislation that supports a modern and efficient highway network in America, ensuring the safe and orderly flow of people and commerce. We need to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), prioritizing American aviation infrastructure and safety programs while incorporating new technologies. We need to reauthorize the federal pipeline safety program, protecting the pipelines that are crucial for American energy independence. We need to develop a bipartisan Water Resources Development Act, improving ports, navigation, and flood protection. We need to conduct rigorous oversight over the implementation of the Biden Administration trillion dollar infrastructure legislation to ensure that hardworking taxpayers’ dollars are going where promised, and oversight over the burdensome rules the Biden Administration places on American producers every day, like their ‘Waters of the U.S.’ rule. I am proud to work on these issues to help provide America with a tailored, well-maintained, fiscally responsible infrastructure network to support economic activity, strengthen our supply chain, and remain a global power.”

The Highways and Transit Subcommittee has jurisdiction over the development of national surface transportation policy, including the construction and improvement of highway and transit facilities, safety and research programs, and regulation of commercial motor vehicle operations.

The Aviation Subcommittee has jurisdiction over all aspects of civil aviation, including safety, infrastructure, labor, commerce, and international issues.

The Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazmat Subcommittee have jurisdiction over the economic and safety regulation of railroads, the transportation of hazardous materials, and pipeline safety.
