A Forgan, Okla., man was killed, and two others from that community were injured in a fatality accident near there.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 2002 Ford F150 was southbound on Beaver County, Okla., Road NS 137,  about a half mile west and a mile south of Forgan with a 2001 Ford F350 pickup headed southbound on that road.

OHP said the 2002 was attempting to turn left onto Beaver County Road EW8 and was struck by the F350 in the passenger side. The F150 then departed the roadway to the left, overturning one-quarter time before striking a fence, a corner post and a utility pole.

OHP said the F150 came to rest on the driver’s side, while the F350 continued to northbound, ejecting the driver, rolling one time before coming to rest on its wheels on the property fence on the east side of the road.

The driver of the F350, Eric Elston, 57, of Forgan was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken by Clark’s Funeral Home of Beaver, Okla., to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.

The driver of the F150, 56-year-old Juan Lopez of Forgan, was transported by Beaver EMS to Beaver County Memorial Hospital. He was later flown by Eagle Med to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. He was admitted in critical condition with head, trun, internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries.

A passenger in the F150, a 15-year-old male from Forgan, was taken by Beaver EMS to Beaver County Memorial Hospital. He was flown by Apollo to Northwest Texas Hospital, where he was admitted with head, trunk internal, external trunk, arm and leg injuries.

OHP said the condition of both drivers and the cause of the accident are under investigation. Seat belts were not in use in either vehicle.
