5 24 covid 19 recoveriesEARL WATT • Leader & Times

Despite a large number of new cases recorded Wednesday from positive coronavirus results from Seaboard Foods’ pork processing plant in Guymon, Okla., a large number of recoveries since Monday dropped the active number of cases to 281.

Seward County has recorded 817 positive cases of COVID-19, but 536 have recovered.

From Monday to Thursday, a new high of 99 recoveries were recorded.

Seward County still only had one death.

The optimistic report coincided with the end of Governor Laura Kelly’s Phase 1.5, and a modified Phase 2 began Friday. Gathering sizes increased from 10 to 15, and indoor leisure spaces along with sports practices were allowed to open.
