An Oklahoma youth is dead following a fatality accident Wednesday in western Texas County, Okla.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the wreck happened at an unknown time Wednesday on Texas County Road Mile 14, about a fifth of a mile south of Road EE about three miles north of Texhoma, Okla.

OHP said a 1999 Ford Taurus four door was north on Road Mile 14 when it departed to the left. The driver overcorrected and crossed back over the road departing the roadway to the right.

The Taurus then rolled three and a quarter times coming to rest on the passenger side in a field.

The driver, 22-year-old Lukas Brian Simmons of Goodwell, Okla., was ejected sometime during the roll, according to OHP, and he came to rest about 60 feet from the vehicle.

Simmons was pronounced dead at the scene  of massive injuries by medical examiner Grant Wadley. He was transported to Henson-Novak Funeral Home in Guymon, Okla.

Simmons’ condition at the time of the accident is still under investigation. OHP ruled the cause of the wreck as traveling too fast for road type. A seat belt was not in use at the time of the accident.
