The Southwest Kansas Royalty Owners Association’s (SWKROA), 73rd annual meeting will be Saturday, April 24 at the Hugoton Middle/High School Auditorium, located at 115 West 11th Street (on State Highway 51), in Hugoton. 

Registration will begin at 9 a.m., and the meeting will begin at 10 a.m.

SWKROA will address issues of interest to mineral and royalty owners, including several issues which are related to the use of the surface of land to conduct oil and gas exploration and development activities.

• Ken White, President, White Exploration, Inc., Wichita: His presentation is captioned, “Southwest Kansas Oil & Gas Issues: Abandoned Wells, Helium and CO2 Sequestration,” will address these important issues, which are especially important as our major gas fields in the Hugoton Embayment mature.

• Tyler K. Turner, an attorney with the Jeter Turner Sook Baxter LLP law firm of Hays is our other featured speaker. Turner is a title attorney who regularly examines the record title for mineral and royalty interests. His presentation will cover issues related to mineral title and the interplay with the leasehold estate.
