Reflections from 50 years

This in my 50th year of walking with the Lord.  I surrendered my life to God in 1973,  and here it is, fifty years later.  How quickly it has gone by.  When I was asked to write the Pastor’s Corner for July, I thought a few reflections of different experiences with the Lord would be beneficial.

When looking back, how thankful I am that I made that decision to surrender my life to Christ.  My life has not always been easy.  I lost a son in a car wreck.  There has been serious illness, both in me and my children.  There has been, at times, financial need.  But through it all, in looking back over the past fifty years, God has been faithful.

At times, it looked as if God had backed me into a corner, with no way out.  Yet, when I decided to trust the Lord, and after the crisis was over,  my faith was stronger than it was previously.  And each time, as I chose to trust God and obey Him, my faith became stronger.

And now, fifty years has gone by. And I have discovered that Jesus Christ is worthy of our trust.  How I thank Him for His faithfulness. Looking back, I can see an Unseen Hand has guided  my life.

And so, in the weeks ahead, I want to share a few of those experiences. I can’t share everything that’s happened in the past 50 years.  But I can share enough to testify that God is faithful  And I can testify that God is worthy to surrender our lives into His hands.
