kathryn barberKathryn Elizabeth Barber, 89, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2021 at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton. 

She was born May 2, 1932 to Earl and Alice P. (Gentry) Caselman in Beloit, Kansas.

She married Cecil Ralph “Jack” Barber August 9, 1950. He preceded her in death. 

She was a member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed teaching children’s church.  She attended the Senior Center quite often and loved a good game of bingo. 

She enjoyed riding motorcycles with her son, Rod. 

She enjoyed water skiing, poetry, reading books, and wild and fast driving. 

Survivors include three children: Rod Barber and wife Cindy, Fritch, Texas, Jackie Williams and husband, Max, Hugoton, and Jeannie Hern and husband, Jim, Cheney; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Hazel Grief, Margaret Robbins, William Caselman, James Caselman, Lois Albin.

• Funeral services took place Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021 at First Christian Church in Hugoton with Pastor Heath Kelley presiding. 

Burial took place at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.

A memorial has been established for Pheasant Heaven Charities or First Christian Church in care of Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
