MEADE – Rodger D. Klotz, 78, died Monday, Nov.15, 2021 at the Meade District Hospital in Meade.

He was born Oct. 29, 1943 to Max and Mary (Butts) Klotz in Englewood.  

He married Leatha Crober. They later divorced.  

He married Cordelia Ann Dillon Dec. 24, 1978 in Meade. She preceded him in death Jan. 25, 2009.

He graduated from Englewood High School.  

After graduation, he began working for the Brookover Feedlot in Garden City.  He later began his career with the Michigan-Wisconsin Gas Pipeline, working for many years until his retirement.

He enjoyed flying, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and friends, and was a longtime member of AA.

Survivors include children: Rodgina Duvall, Kiowa, Eugenia Kay Porter and husband, Kenneth, Meade, Robie Blackburn and wife, Georgia, Meade, Stacy Blackburn, Stanbeau, Ky., and Phillip Blackburn, Hueysville, Ky.; brother, Jerry Klotz, Lakin; and many other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Raymond, Harold, and Larry Klotz; and sister, Betty Osburn.

• Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade.   

Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at the Englewood Cemetery in Englewood.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021 at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.  

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
