mary lou mezaULYSSES – Mary Lou Meza, 69, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo. 

She was born March 21, 1952 to Bonifacio and Delores (Lombraña) Meza in Levelland, Texas.  

She graduated from Ulysses High School in 1972. 

She worked at El Ranchito Restaurant as well as the IBP Cafeteria in Garden City. 

She loved to cook and spend time with her family. 

She collected Tweety Bird figurines and Willow Tree Angels. 

She attended Nueva Esperanza Del Nazareno in Dodge City.

Survivors include children: Nancy Mata and husband, Lino, Jeremy Jacquez, Jessica Soriano Cruz and husband, Juan, and Jesus Soriano and wife, Maria; siblings: Lupe Beohler, Ulysses, Modesto Meza, Ulysses, Vicki Lewis, Conroe, Texas, Linda Zuniga, Borger, Texas, Sally Carson, Westmoreland, and Joe Meza, Edmond, Okla.; 32 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill Meza and Manuel Meza; and sisters: Clementine Poppe, Debbie Medina, Madeline Hernandez, and Janie Meza.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, with Pastor Felix Garcia and Pastor Emilio Raymundo presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses. 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at the Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses. 

Memorials are suggested to the Mary Lou Meza Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS  67880.
