MEADE – Katherine F. (Reimer) Friesen, 95, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2021 at the Meade District Hospital in Meade.

She was born Sept. 30, 1926 to John J. and Mary (Friesen) Reimer.   

She married Pete M. Friesen Sept. 24, 1944 in Meade. He preceded her in death April 27, 2013. 

Education was very important, and she loved books and reading her entire life.  

Growing up, she also had a passion for singing and was a member of a ladies quartet for more than 30 years.

She accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of her life when she was 16 years old and served her Lord and her church as a Sunday School teacher, Awana Listener and Church librarian.  She was also a member of the EUH Unit.

Survivors include sons, Eugene D. Friesen and wife, Carlene, Lincoln, and Stanley D. Friesen, Sulphur, Okla.; grandson, Jeremy E. Friesen and wife, Lisa; four great-grandchildren: Lydia, Nathan, James, and Jared; and many other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Reimer; and sisters: Agnes Classen, Mary Isaac, Anna Jansen, Sara Classen, Elizabeth Isaac, and Eva Rempel.

• Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 at the Graceland Cemetery in Meade.  

Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade.  

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
