Anna Maria Howell, 79, died Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.
She was born July 13, 1942 to Milton “Mutt” Allen and Anna May (Marsh) Allen.
She married James “Dickie” Howell in 1959. He survives.
She was a member of the American Legion.
She enjoyed making pottery, ceramics, and playing cards with her friends at the ceramic shop in Liberal, interior design, and fishing.
She loved watching “Survivor,” going to garage sales, and attending auctions.
Survivors also include her mother; son, James “Jimmy” R. Howell II and companion, Geraldine, Henderson, Nev.; daughters, Valencia Hernandez, Halstead, and Deanna “DeDe” Howell, Wichita; three grandchildren: Kera Snyder and husband, Dustin, Olathe, Adreanne Hernandez, Liberal, and Anthony Hernandez, Merriam; brothers, Chuck Allen, Highlandville, Mo., and Dwayne Allen, Tiptonville, Tenn.; sister-In- Law, Laverta Delong, Meade; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Marvin Allen .
• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at Hornung Family Funeral Home at 1212 W. 2nd Street in Liberal, with Kevin Alexander presiding.
Burial will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Hornung Family Funeral Home.
