James “Bud” Wise, 75, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022.
He was born Sept. 8, 1946 to James Windol and Otehka P. (Caudle) Wise.
He married Samma Lynn (Comer) May 1, 1969. She preceded Bud in death Jan. 24, 2005.
He married Donna Farmer (Chilson) Jan. 17, 2009. She survives.
He worked for Pioneer Communications of Ulysses for 41 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed singing karaoke, bird watching, fishing, watching, and attending drag racing, and Oklahoma Sooner football.
Survivors also include daughters, Cherie Pennington and husband, Nathan, Tahlequah, Okla., and Shiella Vardeman and husband, Justin, Blanchard, Okla.; stepsons, Mike Farmer, Salina, and Alan Farmer, Salina; brother, Joe Wise and wife, Linda, Ulysses; sister, Jerilyn Foncannon Montgomery, Texas; sister-in-law, Wanita Wise, Ulysses; four grandchildren: Clint Pennington and wife, Lyra, Brody Howard, Laynee Herrera and husband, Tomas, and Aiden Vardeman; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin sons, James David and Robert Wayne Wise; granddaughter, Madison Marie Vardeman; and brothers, Eddie Wise and Mike Wise.
• Funeral services took place Monday, Aug. 8, 2022 at the Ulysses Church of Christ in Ulysses.
Burial took place at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
A memorial has been established for Alzheimer’s Association in care of Robson Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Ulysses, KS 67880.
