JOHNSON – Charles William Foote, 90, died Nov. 22, 2021 in Grand Junction, Colo.
He was born Oct. 31, 1931 to Luther and Lila Mae Foote.
He married Joanne Combs Nov. 23, 1951. She preceded him in death in 2012.
He had a career at Martin Marietta as a Materials Receiving Inspector for more than 30 years. In his spare time, he had a passion for fishing and the outdoors, as well as wood carving. He founded the Grand Valley Wood Carvers in 1986 where he taught many classes. He carved beautiful realistic birds and mammals, numbering into the thousands.
He enjoyed caring for his yard and garden, carving, and going fishing several times a week.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church for many years, and was a member and Elder of the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his four children: Barbara Homrighausen (Barry), Steve Foote (Judy), Bob Foote (Lisa) and Roger Foote (Tana); eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Charlene.
• A graveside service and burial for both Charles and Joanne will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 at the Stanton County Cemetery, with Pastor Mary Courtney officiating.
