Oscar Gilberto “la Borre” Gandara, 37, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, in St. Paul, Minn.
He was born April 15, 1985 to Frederico and Juana Gandara.
He married Elida Omaira Gandara Feb. 14, 2008. She survives.
He was working for Black Hawk Energy Service as a Relief Operator.
He was a great sport enthusiast, and never missed watching his favorite sports, which included soccer, both Mexican and American, and basketball. There was a great fun rivalry between him and his brother, Alonso, who cheered for the opposing soccer teams in Mexico.
He loved his nieces and nephews and spending time with his wife and daughters.
He enjoyed fishing and was an excellent cook, with deep frying being his specialty.
Survivors also include his mother; daughters, Hazel and Harley; and brothers, Alonso Gandara, and Luis F. “Lico” Gandara.
He was receded in death by his father.
• Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the Rosary to follow at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, with both services at Hornung Family Funeral Home in Liberal.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal, with Rev. Juan Salas presiding.
Graveside services will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery.
