erika soto zapataULYSSES – Erika J. Soto-Zapata Ramirez, 37, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. 

She was born Sept. 4, 1985 to Juan Luis Soto and Alma Rosa Zapata.  

She married Carlos Ramirez. He survives.

After graduating from high school, she earned an accountant degree which she used while living in Mexico. In 2006, she moved to the United States. 

She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, and her family was her whole world. She supported and attended all their sports and activities. 

Erika enjoyed making TikTok videos with her daughters, playing games with her children, cooking for her family, singing and listening to music.  She also enjoyed the time she spent babysitting her nieces and nephews. 

She was a member of the Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.

Survivors also include her mother; children: Carlos Jr., Lluvia M., Liliana M. and Gabriella Sofia Ramirez; sister, Laura Marisol Zapata Herrera, Monterey, Mexico; and many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandfather; and uncles.

• Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2022 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Charles Seiwert presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses. 

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
