alda mae stapletonAlda Mae (Webb) Stapleton, 94, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2023 at Hill Top House in Bucklin. 

She was born April 7, 1928 to Stell Russell and Verla Lavina (Johnson) Webb on the family farm in rural Stevens County. 

She married Clifford Eugene Stapleton May 27, 1945 on the family farm in Stevens County. He preceded her in death in 2001. 

She became a homemaker and helped on the farm driving the tractor and combine, and helped with irrigation. But the most important role in her life was that of mother to her five children: Roy Van, Randall, Rodney, Rita, and Rick. 

Later in life, she enjoyed the Sandhill Rod and Custom Club events and traveling in their motorhome.

She was a member of the Sublette Church of the Nazarene, a member of the Banner Club and the Friendly Neighbor Club for many years.

Survivors include daughter, Rita Stapleton, Hutchinson; sons: Roy Van Stapleton and wife, Sharon, Liberal, Randall Stapleton and wife, Pam, Apache Junction, Ariz., Rodney Stapleton and wife, Janis, Mullinville, and Rick Stapleton and wife, Peggy, Dodge City; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by sister, Lavonne Brown; and brothers, Verl Webb and Delmer Webb.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 at the Sublette Church of the Nazarene. 

Burial will follow at Banner Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2023 at Weeks Family Funeral Home and Crematory.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
