BETTY RUMMANS

Betty Rummans, 82, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2023 at the Kansas Heart Center in Wichita.  

She was born Aug. 6, 1940 to Rebecca Hart and FL "Little Buddy" Ricks.

After she finished school, she went on to help take care of the elderly. She worked as a CNA at Wheatridge for 22 years, retiring in 2018. 

She loved working in her yard, fishing, cookouts and taking care of her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include husband David Shelton; six children: Angela Gibbs, Cynthia Ricks, Greg and Mary Ricks, Mary and Marcus Wright, Kenneth Miller, and Brandon Shelton; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Rummans Jr.; and grandsons, Larry Ricks and Kolby Hopkins.

• There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal.

The family suggests memorials are suggested to the St Jude's Children's Hospital in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS 67905-0826.
