Warren Wilton "Butch" Henson Jr., 85, died May 29, 2023.
He was born July 30, 1937 to Warren Henson Sr. and Ellen Henson.
He married Marie Helen Fairchild. She preceded him in death.
He graduated from Liberal High School, where he was president of his class. He then attended the University of Kansas. He graduated with a degree in petroleum engineering in 1959.
He was a member of the Liberal Bee Jays semi-pro baseball team in 1956.
He worked as an engineer and subsequent owner, with his father, of a number of oilfield trucking companies.
He later became a member and union steward of the US Postal Department.
He enjoyed collecting rare books and Lionel toy trains, and was an avid left-handed golfer, with "The Fools Group" golf group.
Survivors include sons, Warren Wilton "Skip" Henson III and wife, Monika Anderson, and Craig Douglas Henson; daughter, Heather Ann Henson; and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Paul Fairchild.
The family would also like to thank everyone who assisted Dad in the recent months-- especially Dr. David E. Fisher and Sharon King.
