DANNY ARTHUR

PLAINS – Danny L. Arthur, 61, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023 at his home in Plains.

He was born Dec. 11, 1961 to James William and Alice Marcel (Drain) Arthur.

He married Janetta Carlson March 29, 1986. She survives.

He graduated from Perryton High School in Perryton, Texas in 1980. He later attended vocational school.  

After his schooling, he worked in the oilfield, was a truck driver, later working for Mitsubishi Power Systems and General Electric, then in 2016, moving to Plains where he and his wife owned and operated J & D Donuts and Deli.

He enjoyed playing cards, dominos, dancing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors also include his children: Aaron Smith and wife, Shannon, Ft. Liberty, N.C., Amber Brown, Dumas, Texas, Angela Smith, Plains, Missy Chairez and husband, Victor, Dumas, Texas, and Crystal Arthur, Tyler, Texas; brothers, James Arthur, Lubbock, Texas, and Dick Morris, Waxahachie, Texas; sister, Allison Blue, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Elzie Farrah and Shirley Shearer.

• A celebration of Danny’s life will take place at a later date as cremation has taken place.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
