DELOIS TERRY

Delois Terry, 76, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2023 at St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.  

She was born Jan. 10, 1947 to Richard and Bettie (Edwards) Witherspoon.

She married Maurice Terry May 23, 1965. He survives.

Delois' life passion was her family and church; she fed the hungry and took care of those who were ill. She was a long time member of Bibleway Church of God in Christ where she served in many positions including missionary, leading the youth group,and singing in the choir among many other duties.

Survivors also include six children: Betty Mae Collier, McCleansville, N.C., Sedrick Orlando Terry, Winchester, Va., Garrie Michelle Robinson, Covington, Ga., Douglas Maurice Terry, New Bedford, Mass., Katina Lynn Terry, Wichita, and Marcus Lamon Terry, Liberal; three brothers: James Witherspoon, Liberal, Micheal Witherspoon, Midlothian, Texas, and Fred Witherspoon, Arlington, Texas; sisters, Gloria Bailem, Mobile, Ala., and Bernestine Britt, Kansas City, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Mary Olar Witherspoon; two sisters; and six brothers.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 at Bibleway Church of God In Christ at 410 E. 8th Street in Liberal, with Pastor Steven Bailem presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.

Friends may call Friday, August 25, 2023, 1 to 7 p.m. at Miller Mortuary in Liberal.
