buddie neatherlinULYSSES – Buddie M. Neatherlin, 90, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2023 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. 

He was born May 12, 1933 to Frank Andy and Clara (Kerkondoff) Neatherlin.  

He married Susie Hernandez Oct. 20, 1955. She survives.

He was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. After an honorable discharge, he moved to La Junta, Colo. 

He worked for a seismograph company and also in construction. 

He enjoyed reading, raising pheasants, collecting barbed wire, and researching family history. 

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their sporting events. 

Survivors also include his children: Buddie and wife, Mary, Brian, Ulysses, Judy, Ulysses, Linda, Ulysses, and Andy Neatherlin, Ulysses; sisters, Lowana Neatherlin, Oklahoma City, and Helen Garcia, Tucumcari, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Bobbie and Bruce; daughter, Kathy Sue; and siblings: Bill, Raymond, Charles, Frank Jr., and Glenda Mercer.

• Rosary will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.

Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Eric Gyamfi presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery with military rites conducted by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79. 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. 

Memorials are suggested to Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church or to the National Kidney Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS  67880.
