GENEVIEVE STANLEY

Genevieve (Jan) Stanley, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 in Satanta.

She was born Dec. 23, 1928 to George Peterman and Sarah Jane Peterman (nee Wanzer). 

She married L.F. (Jack) Stanley in 1955. He preceded her in death.

Upon completion of beauty school in Wichita, she moved to start working in Southwest Kansas. When the opportunity to have a solo shop in the growing town of Satanta arose, she jumped at the chance.

She also enjoyed china painting, decorating, gardening, and cooking.

She excelled at propping up her family members and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.

Survivors include her daughter, Sara (Bruce) Desiderio; grandsons: Roth and Derek Desiderio, Eion (Jennifer) Stanley, and Samuel Stanley; great-grandsons, Gregory and Jack Stanley; and granddaughters Emily and Maria Stanley.

She was also preceded in death by herson, Lewis Stanley; and grandson, L. Heath Stanley.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023 at Satanta Baptist Church in Satanta. 

Burial will follow at the Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.

Friends may call from 12 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023 at Robson Funeral Home in Satanta, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
