MEADE – Carol Tacha, 100, died Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.

She was born Dec. 24, 1917 to Lester and Mary Ida (Goldsby) Hager in Dellvale. 

She married Darrel James Tacha Oct. 26, 1936 in Oberlin. He preceded her in death June 20, 1981.  

She attended the Clayton school system, graduating from Clayton High School. 

She began working at Meade District Hospital in 1953 as a nurse’s aide until her retirement in 1996.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cross-stitching, making afghans, embroidery, and spending with her family and friends.

Survivors include son, Melvin Tacha and wife, Juanita, Meade; daughter, Sherry Doerflinger and husband, Bud, Meade; sister, Ila Burke, Aurora, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Martin Tacha; daughter, Shirley Jean Tacha; daughter-in-law, Clauda Tacha; and brothers, Virgil and Dean Hager.

• Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Jennings Cemetery in Jennings.  

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to the Meade District Hospital in care of the funeral home.
