leo davisELKHART – Leo Allen Davis, 68, died Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Bivins Pointe in Amarillo, Texas. 

He was born July 24, 1951 to Leo A. Davis and Mona Rankin in Andrews, Texas. 

He graduated from Elkhart High School in Elkhart in 1969. 

He was involved in a band throughout his high school years called the Malemen. 

He joined the United States Navy in August 1969 where he served for three years with an honorable discharge. 

He then continued his education at Hutchinson Community College with an associate’s degree in Arts. 

He had many passions in life which included: Playing Drums, Gardening, Music, Joke Telling, and Pottery. 

He was involved with Kiwanis, worked for the City of Elkhart, and was well known throughout the community.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years Teresa Davis; sister, Shelia Easery; four daughters: Becky Fleming, Julie Wright, Dana Swayden, and Susie Bitner; and 11 grandchildren: Payton Fleming, Garrett Davis, Madison Gwin, Brett Bitner, Bailey Bitner, Landon Wright, Parker Fleming, Callie Wright, Ella Swayden, Davis Swayden, and Mason Wright.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, Briggs Holman; and grandmother, Bernice Holman.

• Graveside services, with military rites by Point Rock Post #3162, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart. Services will also be streamed live on Garnand Funeral Home’s Facebook page with Reverend Terrell Giddens presiding. 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
