paul roeschPaul Douglas “PD” Roesch, 73, died Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.

He was born May 26, 1946 to Warren “Dale” and Marjorie May (Bowers) Roesch-Henderson in Wichita. 

He married Suzette Gail Taylor July 13, 1966, at the Methodist Church in Englewood. She survives.

He graduated from high school in Englewood with the Class of 1964. He attended college in Weatherford, Okla. and Hutchinson.

While attending school in Buffalo, Okla., he was 1st trumpeter in the high school band winning 1’s at a contest in Dodge City and at state contest. 

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Buffalo, Okla.

He served in the army from May 1966 through May 1969, with a rank of SP/5 (P). During his basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., he received the Distinguished Trainee Award and setting a new record for marksmanship.  He spent most of his service time in South Korea and was honorably discharged while stationed in N. Tonawanda, N.Y.

He retired after over 25 years of employment with National Carriers as a bull hauler and dispatcher.  As a retirement appreciation, National Carriers sent Paul and Suzette on an Alaskan cruise (which they enjoyed), taking side trips and fly fishing. 

He was in several pool leagues and participated in many tournaments. He also had a large gun collection for years and enjoyed marksmanship shooting.

Survivors also include his mother; son, Mark Roesch, Glenpool, Okla.; grandchildren: Joshua, Kade, and Jocelyn Roesch, Glenpool, Okla.; sister, Terena and husband, Darrel Girk, Protection; brother, Richard and wife, Wanda Davis, Byhalia, Miss.; nephew, Rikki Davis Byhalia, Miss.; nieces, Teresa Godino and her family, Cherokee, Okla., and Vickie Thames and her family, Midland, Texas; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents: Paul and Blanche Roesch, and Paul and Iva Bowers; stepfather, Jesse Henderson; and stepsister, Diane Henderson.
