johnnie brantJohnnie Mae Brant, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020 in Liberal. 

She was born June 26, 1935 to Will Davis Sr. and Beatrice Sacks Davis in Crosbyton, Texas.

She married her first husband, Paul G. Adkison Sr. in 1952. He preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1967.

She later married her second husband, Coatis L. Oats Sr. He preceded her in death Dec. 5, 1997. 

She then married her third husband, John D. Brant Sr. He preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2007. 

She had many hobbies, but her favorites were baking sweet treats and singing. She was well known for her famous 7-Up Pound Cake and dancing. 

She worked at the Memorial Health Care Center as a Healthcare Assistant. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Portland. Ore., and a member of All Nations Church in Liberal. 

Survivors include sons: Paul (Dorothy) Adkison Jr., Coatis L. Franks, Coat L. Oats Jr., Tony Brant, and John Brant; daughters: Billie R. Adkison, Shirley A. Adkison, Rebecca D. (Jerome) Speer, Debbie Howard, Mary Alice Turner, and Betty Watson; grandchildren: Angela Adkison, Roderick and Alesha Thorbes, Thyja and Melvin Tatum, Aljalon and Cherree Adkison, Adrian Adkison, LaTasha Adkison, Kathy Pugh, Aquisha Livingston, Kevin R. Livingston Jr., Kedrick Eyle, Tatayana and Justin McIntyre, Sedrick Adkison, Akeia Thorbes, Shaniqwa Lewis, Alize Tatum, Donte Adkison, Dominic Adkison, Janyia Sowers, Kyeron Williams, DJ Adkison, Journie Adkison, and Renee Brant. 109 great-grandchildren; and 38 great-great-grandchildren. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; children: Martha Henry, Bobbie Brown, Larry Brant, Tony C. Adkison, Sheila Oats, Linda Sherman; grandchildren: Paul G. Adkison III, Mike Adkison, Keyawna Williams, Mack Mcintosh, Nicky Adkison, Gabriella Adkison, Baby J McIntyre; brothers, Will Davis Jr., Raydale Davis, Odell Davis, Joe Davis, Q.B. Davis, Sim Davis, R.L. Davis; and sisters, Ernie B. Davis, and Billie A. Davis.

• Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2020 at All Nations Church in Liberal. 

Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Holman presiding. 

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Hornung Family Funeral Home at 1212 W. 2nd Street, in Liberal.
