MEADE – Frances Eilene Coombs, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2020 at her home in Meade.

She was born Nov. 13, 1930 to Paul and Sarah Frances (Love) Weaver in Cottonwood Falls. 

She married Donald James Coombs Oct. 7, 1952 in Alamosa, Colo.  He precedes her in death Dec. 25, 2004.

She attended school in Cottonwood Falls and later attended school in Del Norte, Colo. and received her nursing training at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo.  

Throughout the years, she was a schoolteacher and a registered nurse, working in California, Colorado, and Utah.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Liberal.  She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include four daughters: Kisha Banks, Karen Coombs, Karil Buchanan, and Kathleen Wilcox; 20 grandchildren; and 60 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by son, Kenneth Lee Coombs; and daughter, Kay Wonser.

• Graveside services took place Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020 at the Sanford Cemetery in Sanford, Colo.

Memorials are suggested to the Frances Coombs Memorial Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
