helen ohairELKHART – Helen Fern (Farmer) O’Hair, 83, died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart. 

She was born Aug. 30, 1937 to E.H. and Eula Rhea (Eatmon) Farmer in Oklahoma City. 

She married Billy Max O’Hair June 25, 1955 in Great Bend. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2013. 

She was a member of the First Christian Church. 

She was a well-respected educator for the Rolla School District for 22 years. 

She enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, knitting, reading and spending time with family and friends. 

Survivors include three sons: Kevin and wife, Kristi, Amarillo, Texas, Gary and wife, Lisa, Pendaries, N.M., and Thane and wife, Brenda, Elkhart; sister, Vaughnda Cain, Rio Vista, Calif.; 10 grandchildren: Cassie, Will, Lexi, Dax, Jackson, Cale, Tucker, Kaede, Chace and Nakaela; and seven great-grandchildren: Levi, Luke, Whitley, Mason, Destynee, Xerayah and Kiahna. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Valta and Janie.

• Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 at First Christian Church in Elkhart with Pastor Jim Cunningham presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart. 

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2020 at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart. 

Memorials are suggested to Heartland Tri-State Bank of Elkhart, where a memorial has been set up in Bill and Helen O’Hair’s name to provide a scholarship for an Elkhart High School Student, PO Box 1000, Elkhart, Kansas 67950.
