FOWLER – Norman (Cokey) Hatfield, 79, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 at the Minneola District Hospital in Minneola.

He was born Dec. 13, 1940 to Howard E. and Lorene (Mahieu) Hatfield in rural Fowler.  

He married Jean Mendenhall July 11, 1958 in Fowler. She survives. 

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Fowler and the Meade County Roping Club.

He was active in organizing the Meade County Rodeo and was instrumental in the building of the indoor arena at the Meade County Fair Grounds.

Survivors also include three sons: Rick, Lawton, Okla., Keith, Jacksonville, Fla., and Les, Glendale, Ariz.; daughter, Karen, Fowler; sister, Sherri Copple, Berthoud, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Hatfield; and sister, Carol Stanley.

• Graveside services took place Monday, Sept. 28, 2020 at the Fowler Cemetery in Fowler. 

Memorials are suggested to The Cross Rodeo Bible Camp in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
