MEADE – Eva F. Rempel, 89, Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays.

She was born April 10, 1931 to John J. and Mary (Friesen) Reimer in Meade County. 

She married Herman F. Rempel June 8, 1951 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade. He survives.

She was a homemaker and had worked as a cook for the Lone Tree Lodge and the Meade District Hospital.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church, the sewing society, the EHU, and sang with the ladies quartet of the Emmanuel Mennonite Church for more than 40 years.  

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, baking, playing several musical instruments, and hosting gatherings for her family and friends.

Survivors also include daughters, Cindy Dillon and husband, Matt, Topeka, and Janalee Sue Rempel, Garden City; sister, Katherine Friesen, Meade; four grandchildren: Brandi Osburn and husband, Derek, Olathe, Nicole Thyfault and husband, Dominic, Topeka, Katrina Dillon, Los Angeles, and Cody Dillon, Topeka; and great-granddaughter, Piper Eva Thyfault, Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John F. Reimer; and five sisters: Agnes Classen, Mary Isaac, Elizabeth Isaac, Sara Classen, and Anna Classen.

• Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in Meade.  

Burial will take place prior to the service at the Emmanuel Mennonite Church Cemetery in Meade.  

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.

Memorials are suggested to Operation Christmas Child or the Emmanuel Mennonite Church in care of the funeral home.
