James Roll (Jim) Olinger, 67, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020 at the Stevens County Hospital.

He was born Dec. 17, 1952  to Charles F. Olinger and Edna Dorothy (Palmer) Olinger in Lamar, Colo. 

He graduated from Hugoton High School and went to college at Colby Community College, Dodge City Community College and Ft. Hays State. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology.

He moved home to help run the family farm in Stevens County and later worked for Seaboard Farms at a feed mill for 20 years.

He was a member of the First Church of God in Hugoton.

Survivors include three brothers: John Olinger and wife, Karen, Clifton, Idaho, Alfred Olinger and wife, Kim, Montezuma, and Robert Olinger, Guymon, Okla.; four nieces; eight nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2020 at the First Church of God in Hugoton with Pastor Israel Franco presiding. 

Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020 at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton. The family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

A memorial has been established for the First Church of God. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, PO Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
