rick bhowan kanhaiRick Bhowan Kanhai, 57, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020 at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart.

He was born on May 4, 1963 to Gewan Kandhai and Nandranie (Khemraj) Kandhai in Georgetown, Guyana.

He was owner and operator of Rick’s Video in Elkhart.   

He was a member of the Kiwanis, Chamber Of Commerce and was on the board of Whistle Stop Park.

Survivors include son, Joseph Desantos Kanhai, Greely, Colo.; daughters, Nichole Desantos-Kanhai, Elkhart, and Erica Desantos-Kanhai, Hollis, Okla.; brother, Ravi Kanhai and wife, Sherry, Claremont, Fla.; sister, Sharda Kandhai, Elkhart; uncle and aunt, Ramgobind and Wanda Khemraj, Elkhart; adopted grandma, Myrtle LaFond, Elkhart; foru grandchildren: Rayana Woods, Rayan Deleon, Zane Molino and Zena Molino; daughter by heart, Yessenia Bearce and husband, William, Elkhart; nieces, Meena and Megan Kanhai, Claremont, Fla.; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Meena Kanhai.

• Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at Robson Funeral Home at 120 Grant Street in Elkhart. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
