mildred hanlonMildred (Sue) Louise Hanlon, 87, died Saturday, Jan.2, 2021 at her home.

She was born Nov. 3, 1933 to George and Goldie (Albright) Pattern in Ames, Okla.

She married Edward Hanlon July 1, 1951. He preceded her in death Dec. 30, 2015.

She lived in many places during her marriage and in these moves, she did many things. She was a Cub Scout and then a Girl Scout leader, she was a president of the PTA, she ran the shipping office in Turpin, Okla. for the Beaver Express Freight and she took H&R Block tax classes. 

She was also heavily involved in the Home Extension ladies group in Beaver, Okla. and competed in the fairs in Liberal and Beaver, Okla.

After retirement, she traveled all over the country with her husband, including up to New York State and several trips up to Washington State. She spent many summer months tending her garden with her husband and selling the produce in the Liberal Farmer’s Market, and also sold and donated food to the Turpin Public School.

Survivors include three children: David and wife, Donna Hanlon, Orange, Texas, Jackie and husband, Bob Wesley, Turpin Okla., and Richard and husband, Tim Hanlon, Livingston Texas; grandchildren: Michael Wesley and wife, Christina, John Wesley, Bobby Wesley, Angela Smiddy, Melisa Schroeder and husband, Jon Milledge, and Vanessa Schroeder; great-grandchildren: Kevin Wesley, Tyler Wesley, Matthew Smiddy, Mark Smiddy, Ethan Smiddy, Kiegan Pace, Kaylee Schroeder, Brianna Schroeder, Junior Milledge, Sam Finch, Daniel Wesley, Trinity Schroeder, Jordan Schroeder, Jayden Schroeder, and Gabriel Schroeder; brother, JD Patten, Tulsa, Okla.; and sister-in-law Ellen Morrison, Conawango, N.Y.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenny and Jack; and sisters, Jean and Betty.

• There will be a private family memorial service at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Reece Player presiding. The service will also be streamed on the Miller Mortuary Facebook page via Facebook Live.
