lenora mcnabbLenora Lee McNabb, 94, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2021 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.

She was born Jan. 12, 1926 to Fannie Walker and Donnie Pierce on a farm southwest of Forgan, Okla.

She married John "Irish" McNabb July 17, 1946 in Liberal. He preceded her in death.

She graduated from Forgan High School in 1944, and attended Panhandle A&M in Goodwell, Okla., for two years. 

She began her career as a kindergarten teacher primarily at McDermott Elementary School in Liberal for 36 years, retiring in 1991.

She spent many vacations and weekends camping, boating, and fishing with her family and friends including waterskiing. 

She was an excellent baker making specialty birthday cakes for her grandchildren and pies and rolls for the rest of the family. 

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crewel embroidery, and many other handicrafts throughout her life. She was especially fond of crocheting afghans and making Christmas stockings.

Survivors include daughters, Carol (Robert Jr.) Davies, Liberal, and Cheryl (Clarence) Rogers, Shattuck, Okla.; son, Larry McNabb, Piedmont, Okla.; four grandchildren: Carrie Egan, Sophie Davies, Jason Campbell, and Cheri Allen; seven great-grandchildren: Cole, Marin, and Chase Egan, Brittany and Cody Pullen, and Lucas and Logan Campbell; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by sister, Evelyn Angleton; brothers, Jack Pierce and Leonard Pierce; and daughter-in-law, Kathy McNabb.
