georgia herronJOHNSON – Georgia Mae Herron, 89, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson. 

She was born Oct. 16, 1931 to Bill and Lillian (Cox) Bracken in Rogersville, Mo.

She married Manford A. Herron Oct. 16, 1948 in Amarillo, Texas. He preceded her in death Feb. 1, 2011. 

She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Elkhart, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. 

She loved flowers, gardening and cooking for others.

Survivors include daughter, Patty Lou Rains and husband, Eugene, Meade; grandchildren, Chane Westen Rains and wife, Kasey, Meade, and Flint Eric Rains, San Angelo, Texas; three great-grandchildren: Owen Rains and Nathan Rains, Meade, and Wyatt Rains, San Angelo, Texas.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Bracken; and sisters, Gladys Ellis and Dorothy Hamilton.

• Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, with Pastor Steve Rains presiding. The service may also be viewed on Garnand Funeral Home’s Facebook page via Facebook Live. 

Public visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
