william mathiesJOHNSON – William Mathies, 67, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. 

He was born January 4, 1954 to Raymond Stewart and Ann Marie (Kohout) Mathies in Lamar, Colo. 

He loved being a farmer and rancher. He had a gentle soul and was a hard worker and good neighbor, always willing to help. 

He enjoyed having family around during harvest and teaching his granddaughter to drive the grain cart. 

Survivors include daughters, Heather Hinrichs and husband, Brent, Johnson, and Brittny Mace, Cheyenne, Wy.; sister, Diana Cleaver and husband, William, Pottstown, Penn.; four grandchildren: Kariss Kolman, Alex Carruth, Jensen Hinrichs, and Tattum Hinrichs; great-granddaughter, Maeleigh Carruth; five nieces; one nephew; six great-nieces; six great-nephews, and dog, Peewee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

• Funeral services took place Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Johnson. 

Burial took place at Stonington Cemetery.
