PLAINS – Betty Lee Ramsey Richie, 72, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Lone Tree Retirement Center in Meade.

She was born Aug. 3, 1948 to Craig A. and Ruth Ramsey in Dodge City.

She married Lowell Wriston in 1964.

She married Jim Richie in 1981. He preceded her in death in 2015. 

She enjoyed traveling with her husband and visiting sites close to military bases around the world.

She was a member of the Lenexa Baptist Church.

She later began helping others through the Disaster Relief Mission at Lenexa Baptist Church. She served with other Christians around the country in areas affected by disasters. 

Survivors include brother, Craig R. Ramsey (Barbara), Overland Park; brother-in-law, Clark Richie (Shirley) Jay, Okla.; sister-in-law, Velma Icardy, Carrollton, Texas; stepchildren, Noelle (Jared) Gedlaman, Jacksonville, Fla., Julie (Greg) Tanner, Denver, and Tom Richie, Jacksonville, Fla. (Chrissy Richie of Ponte Vedra, FL); six grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Gene Conway; and daughter, Lisa Kelly.

• Memorial services for Betty will be held with a visitation Thursday, April 15 from 5-7 p.m. at the Fidler-Orme-Bachman Funeral Home, 212 S. Fowler, Meade, KS.  Her funeral service followed by burial  will be Saturday, April 17 at 2 p.m. at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home, 777 S. 16th St., Jay, OK.

A memorial fund benefitting the Lenexa Baptist Church Disaster Relief Mission has been set up at Lenexa Baptist Church, 15320 W. 87th Parkway, Lenexa, KS, 66219. Checks may be made out to the Church with Betty Richie Memorial on the memo line.
