Richard (Rich) G. Knott, 90, died Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Fowler Residential Care Center in Fowler. 

He was born April 5, 1931 to Joseph Verl and Lena (Speake) Knott.  

He married Agnes P. Eakes Jan. 16, 1952. She survives.

He and his brothers played baseball for the Walsh Legionaires in Walsh, Colo. – the Knott brothers made up most of the team and Rich was the ace pitcher.  He was passionate about baseball and even pitched briefly for the Brooklyn Dodgers farm team in Florida in 1949.  

He worked as a welder for Panhandle Eastern until his retirement in 1988.  

He enjoyed watching Cubs baseball, taking care of his lawn, and playing cards, keno, and video poker.  

He was a member of the St. Patrick’s Knights of Columbus in Plains and most recently a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Meade.

Survivors also include three sons: Richard L. (Brenda), Meade, Larry (Cheryl), Fowler, and Gary, Meade; three daughters: Jeanne (late Phil) Babcock, Holcomb, Pam (Roger) Kaiser, Howard, Colo., and Sherry Knott, Scott City; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and grandchild, Shane Craves.

• Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Fowler Residential Care Center or Team Treston in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
