julia gardnerJulia Ann Andrade Gardner, 73, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center. 

She was born Jan. 4, 1948 the first of twin girls to Aurelio and Luz Renteria Andrade in Liberal. 

She married Joseph P. “JP” Gardner Nov. 12, 1971 in Liberal.

She graduated from Liberal High School in 1966. She attended St. Anthony’s Nursing School in Amarillo, Texas and graduated in 1969. 

She worked as a candy striper in 1966 and then was employed by the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal until her retirement in 2005. She took year off and then worked another five years as a PRN.

Survivors include four children: Joseph Gardner Jr., Firestone, Colo., Jammie P. Weatherford and husband, Thomas, Auburn, Wash., Jennifer Gardner and life partner, Lori Jones, Westminster, Colo., and Jolene Witzke and husband, Scott, Olathe; brother, Joseph Andrade and wife, Sondra, El Paso, Texas; older sister, Mary Goodpaster and husband, John, Denton, Texas; twin sister, Jeannie Justice and husband, Larry, Albany, Ga.; mother-in-law, Caroline Gardner, Pleasant Gap, Penn.; brother-in-law, Timothy Gardner and wife, Lisa, Bellefonte, Penn.; sisters-in-law, Marie Yearick and husband, Terry, Spring Mills, Penn., and Deborah Lucas and husband, Russell, of Pleasant Gap, Penn.; 16 nephews; 15 nieces; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brother, Lorenzo Zamaro; nephew, Michael Zamora; sister-in-law, Bonnie Stephens; and father-in-law, Joseph Gardner.

• Funeral services took place Monday, Sept. 6, 2021. 

Burial took place at the Zion Cemetery in Zion, Penn.
