MEADE – Norma L. Nail, 79, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 at the Meade District Hospital in Meade.

She was born Nov. 11, 1941 to Henry and Eva (Drake) Bachman in Stratford, Texas.  

She married Carl E. O’Quinn in 1958. They later divorced.  

She married Carl Lynn Nov. 4, 1978, in Guymon, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1993.  

She married Mike Nail in January 2001 in Dodge City. He survives.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the LWML, the Altar Guild, the Beam Senior Center, the Red Hat Society, and was an active organizer of the local blood drives.  

She enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, donating her time, family genealogy, square dancing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors also include her children: Starla Beth Torbert and husband, Kent, Stinett, Texas, Paula Rhea Kern and husband, Darrel, Oklahoma City, Robert Dean O’Quinn, Benbrook, Texas, and Karla Kay Escamillia and husband, Lloyd, Kingwood, Texas; stepchildren: John Michael Nail and James Anthony Nail, both of Parker, Colorado, Jerry Grady and wife, Kenda, Oklahoma City, Larry Grady and wife, Carolyn, Jetmore, and Rose Keith and husband, Brian, Dodge City; 13 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Melvin, Robert, Alvin, and Richard Bachman; and three sisters, Vida Warner, Ida Gaylord, and Dorothy Boryk.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in Meade.  

Burial will follow at the Plains Cemetery in Plains.

Memorials are suggested to St. John Lutheran Church in care of Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
