nina westfallULYSSES – Nina Geraldine “Jerry” Westfall, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 at Western Prairie Senior Living in Ulysses. 

She was born Feb. 1, 1930 to Henry and Edna (Gardner) Johnson in Goodland. 

She married Joseph Wayne Westfall Sept. 26, 1954 in Raton, N.M. He preceded her in death in 2018.

She graduated from Goodland High School. 

She enjoyed many years of being a housewife and devoted mother to her two sons.  She supported them in all their endeavors and attended all their activities.

She enjoyed traveling with a bowling league with her husband, a hobby she began after retirement. 

She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, and the KU basketball team. 

Survivors include sons, Louis Westfall, Olathe, and Lowell Westfall and wife, Paige, Abilene; three grandchildren: Brodie Wayne Westfall, Jerod Brett Westfall, and Brooke Ashley Cornell; and great-grandchildren, Ayden and Gavin Cornell.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; six brothers: Bob, Harold, Morris, Sherman, Wayne and Jack; and five sisters: Vonna, Max, Fern, Hazel and Vera.

• A private family funeral service will take place at a later date, with burial to take place at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses. 

Memorials are suggested to the Grant County Recreation for the Little League Baseball program in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
