Some still ignore how socialist leftists play them like fools. I refuse to play the game with them.

“How politics are destroying creativity in vehicle design” was the subhead of my Op-Ed that was published in the L&T Nov. 18, 2018. I opined on how car designs were unbelievably beautiful and hot in the 1960s and how leftists destroyed the creativity of car manufacturers.

Cars were getting faster and safer, and muscle cars – which all the major manufacturers were building – were eye candy to most every American.

In that piece, I pointed out how car designs were getting sleeker and the competition – like Henry Ford forced onto the industry – was a big factor why muscle cars became affordable to the average American.

“But then something happened in the 1970s and ’80s. It reared its ugly head within the anti-Vietnam activists that hit all the universities across the nation – spreading progressives’ anti-American sentiment.”

The leftists shamed Americans for buying gas guzzlers; they claimed oil was running out in less than a few decades; they pushed for compact cars and demonized Americans that loved the competition that gave us all the wonderful cars of the ’50s, ’60s and early ’70s.

And, nearly all the hot muscle cars of 1968 sold for less than $3,000 (except the Stingray, it was $4,500).

The Democrats (home-sweet-home of the leftist progressives) that controlled states and federal agencies demanded we set mileage standards to wean us off gas guzzlers. Anyone remember the government-created gasoline shortages and long lines at stations in the 1970s under Jimmy Carter?

By 2000, look what we have across the nation – every manufacturer now builds a little SUV that looks nearly exactly the same as another. Government has forced us into communal driving.

Well, that Marxist doctrine worked through those decades and now it’s dominating today’s communist progressives – all cars should be electric, they insist. Gas guzzlers have to go, right now.

Why? Because they have convinced others that we’re all going to be dead in 12 years by climate change because of gasoline vehicles’ carbon emissions.

Look at how the Presidential Puppet-on-a-string, Joseph “Fidel” O’Biden, has put electric cars as his top agenda. One of the items in the progressives just-passed $1.7 trillion Infrastructure Bill is earmarking cash for building electric charging stations across the country.

That’s because all the electric cars so far only make it about four or five hours on a charge at highway speeds. You can’t drive to Houston in 10 hours – not even at 50 mph – in an electric folly. And waiting in line at charging stations for how long?

Columnist David Wojick posted a great opinion piece Apr. 20 at Townhall.com exposing O’Biden’s plans for “the feds to build 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations, at an estimated cost of around $178 billion (not including the probable need to upgrade existing local and community electrical systems, to handle the extra loads).”

Last I heard, negotiations on the bill that passed last week had reduced O’Biden’s plans down to $7.5 billion for 10,000 charging stations. That’s billion with a “B.” And, why is the federal government interfering with the free market place?

Because that’s what Marxism is – communism – communal living from birth to death. Implant false-fear idolatry into the citizens (climate change is going to kill you in 10 or 12 years) so you can force them to drive what the elitist politburo says you have to buy and drive (Merriam-Webster definition: Politburo: The principal policy-making and executive committee of a Communist party).

FYI: Free Markets don’t exist in Marxism, y’all.

All this hoo-rah is kinda funny when you read what the www.wired.com published Nov. 2 headlined: “Cars Are Going Electric. What Happens to the Used Batteries?” It followed the problems of Chevy’s Bolt EV.

“Over the previous year, the car model that had once been celebrated as GM’s grand victory over Tesla – the United States’ first truly mass-market electric vehicle – had begun to look more like a slow-motion disaster,” the article started.

Seems this EV was catching fire when they were being charged overnight. The battery was sparking and creating the problem.

Chevrolet eventually expanded its recall to all 141,000 Bolts sold worldwide since 2017.

I learned the Bolt’s battery covered the entire length of the car (underneath) and weighed 960 pounds alone. Can’t stack them on shelves at NAPA.

Wire.com added: “Unlike the toaster-oven-sized lead-acid batteries inside most gas-powered vehicles, the lithium-ion battery pack inside the Bolt … contains hundreds of battery cells that are delicate and finicky. When taken apart for repairs, they can be dangerous, and incorrect handling can lead to noxious fumes and fires.”

Some professors in California (wonder how they vote?) believe “ … recycled materials could supply more than half of the cobalt, lithium, and nickel in new batteries by 2040, as EVs get more popular,” the article wrote.

Heck, we’ll all be dead by then, according to the mass hysteria the socialists, communists and Democrats are spreading. And, only “half of the materials needed.”

These batteries can’t be dropped in the ocean, can’t put them in landfills. Heck, can’t even haul them to a pioneering recycler unless you have all kinds of waivers clearing trucking regulations for such toxic materials – and dangerous, deadly materials.

Another FYI: Foreign countries, mainly communist China, provide us with all these materials we’re currently importing for nearly all the EV batteries were putting under our vehicles “made in America.”

As of mid-December 2020, experts say a little more than 540,000 electric vehicles had been sold in the U.S., and a few hundred thousand hybrids had also been sold. One report I found claims there are now 1.4 million hybrids and EVs in total.

In contrast, a total of around 276 million motor vehicles were registered in the U.S. at the end of 2019 – leaving about 274.5 million gas guzzlers. That’s what they call all vehicles using gasoline or diesel or jet fuel.

And, that’s why O’Biden and his henchmen and henchwomen shut down as much leasing, drilling, fracking and production as they legally can – to make driving all your gas guzzlers so expensive you will surrender to their dogma and do what they tell you to do.

They say, buy EVs, drive EVs and shut your mouth. Be a good little communist member, or else.

I say, I wouldn’t buy or drive an EV at gunpoint.
