The seventh grade Lady Apaches travelled to Guymon to play the Lady Tigers Tuesday night.  The B-team played first and lost 8-6.   

The seventh grade A-team played the second game and lost 24-16.

The Lady Apaches eighth grade A team lost to Guymon 51-16. Shamari Lewis led the Apaches in scoring with 10 points followed by Allisson Rios, Maya Lopez, and Miranda Rosales with two points apiece. 

The Lady Apaches B-team came up just a little short of their game high scoring goal Tuesday against Guymon. The Lady Apaches fell 41-9. 

The team’s highest scoring effort this season had been nine against Comanche the previous week. 

Destiny Gonzalez hit her three in the first two minutes of the fourth quarter, but the Apaches still came up a little short after taking what may be a record number of three point shots in the closing minutes.

The 41 points Guymon scored came at the expense of some hard earned man-to-man defense. Also, contributing factors included too much size, and the game had a little rougher mentality than what the Lady Apaches typically see in middle school basketball. 

Guymon had some very athletic girls that could play suffocating half court defense, but were also extremely well schooled in full-court press mechanics. 

Destiny Gonzalez was the high scorer for the Apaches with five and a three-point goal. Lynette Alonso scored two and Jazlyn Marguez had two points to open the scoring in the third quarter. Lady 

On Monday the squad takes on cross town rival Eisenhower on the home court. Both games begin at 4 p.m. at Prairie View Elementary.
